Chris is the Managing Partner of Alex Kaar Australia.
Chris was a member of the founding private equity group that established the firm in 2004 and has been an active executive search consultant for over 20 years.
His industry expertise includes financial services, infrastructure, utilities, retail, digital, property, government and private equity. Chris facilitates senior executive search appointments including; Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief People and Culture Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Chris also appoints Non Executive Directors and conducts board reviews for ASX listed, private/family companies and GBE organisations.
Chris commenced his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in corporate advisory practice (Mergers and Acquisitions). His client exposure included financial services, private equity, infrastructure and property. Chris also gained experience in human resources through several secondments during his time at PwC. In 1997 Chris joined an international recruitment business during the start-up phase of several practices and was instrumental in building interim management and contract portfolios. In 2000 Chris joined a leading ASX listed executive recruitment firm as a principal to further enhance their capability within executive search and led the banking, technology, and sales and marketing practice groups nationally.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a member of The CEO Circle and is currently the Chair of a boutique private equity group that has investments across a variety of portfolios including property, digital and biotechnology. Chris is also a dedicated supporter of a youth not for profit, previously as a Non Executive Director of Whitelion and currently as a member of their Leadership Council.
Chris is a father of four and in addition to his love of the Hawthorn football club, Chris is also a non-executive director of the Old Scotch Collegians Association.
